Yong Sports Academy, YOSA, continued her three match unbeaten run by humiliating visiting Botafogo FC of Douala, 4-1 at Bamenda municipal stadium on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
As part of matches for the day 27th of play in the ongoing professional League One, YOSA after recording two draws in their last two matches, bounced back to winning ways when they hosted fourth place, Botafogo FC of Douala.
In an encounter almost marred by rain, YOSA made history as they demolished their visitors 4-1. With just 2 minutes into the encounter, Cyprian Ayamba donning jersey number 18, got the first goal of the encounter which was also his first for the club
After some 20 minutes after the first goal, it was the turn of team captain, Jude Kongnyuy to score both the second and third goals all with magnificent headers thanks to crosses from his teammates.
In the last minutes of the first segment of the game, Cyprian Ayamba made it 4-0 after beating Botafogo goalkeeper and captain before sending the ball into the back of the net.
During the second segment of the game, Botafogo FC however, dominated the game and came close on many occasions but saw their chances wasted. YOSa that showed some signs of tiredness in the second half saw their efforts of keeping a clean shit shattered when Botafogo FC got a consolatory goal at the 90th minute of the game to make it 4-1.
Speaking after the game, Lionel Bong said it was a necessary victory for the team. “We really needed this victory today after an unfortunate draw against Bamboutos of Mbouda last Saturday.” He was also positive that they will end the league on a good position.
On his part, Botafogo FC’s head coach, Djam Laurent said it was a bad day for his club and blame their defeat on the early goals they conceded. He was however confident that his side will bounce back.
