Following the withdrawal of the Liberian Women’s National team form the qualifiers of the Olympic Games, the Lionesses have moved up to the third round.
They would play the third round against the winner of the Ghana/Egypt match billed for July in one of these countries.
The two matches were initially billed for May 2 and 8 in Yaounde as the Liberian federation agreed to carry the match forward to enable the Lionesses go to Europe early ahead of the World Cup.
But, today while their flight plan was awaited, a letter was sent to the federation indicating their forfeiture. The Lionesses would continue to train ahead of the World Cup.
