Basil Afoni- Cameroonian midfielder Eric Djemba Djemba after plying his trade in clubs in Europe will now move to Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League.
The Indian Super League club recently announced the signing of the Cameroon veteran midfielder on their official website.
“We are happy to sign Djemba Djemba and Maurice,” a release quoted player-manager Marco Materazzi as saying. “Both are top players and will add plenty of quality and experience to our team.”
The 33-year-old is a former Manchester United player (2003-05) and last plied his trade in the Scottish Premiership where he played two games for St. Mirren this year before being released.
Djemba has previously played club football in France, England, Qatar, Denmark, Israel and Serbia. In international competition, he represents Cameroon, having appeared for his country 24 times, including at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
He is expected to open a new chapter in his football career in a few days.
