Cameroon champions and current league leaders, Cotonsport of Garoua have rejected a deal to loan out unsettled ‘keeper Jean Effala Komguep to Canon Sportive of Yaoundé.

Komguep has found playing opportunities hard to come by since joining the club from Fovu of Baham last summer and had opted for a move to gain more playing time.

“It is always difficult to watch a game from the bench. But I hope for the better with the arrival of the new coach (Robert Boivin). My loan deal to Canon was rejected by authorities of Cotonsport. I remain a player here, and I will continue to work hard so as to break into the starting lineup,” said the 21 year old. Komguep first caught the eye when he helped Fovu of Baham clinch the Cup of Cameroon in 2010 before skippering the Cameroon U20 squad to the final defeat of the African youth Championships against Nigeria last year. He was equally at the world youth championships where Cameroon were eliminated at the round of 16.
