Cameroon President, Paul Biya has ordered the Prime Minister, Philemon Yang to open investigations on the causes of the Indomitable Lions woeful performance at the 2014 World Cup.
Cameroon exited the competition early after losing all its three matches against Mexico, 1-0, Croatia 0-4 and Brazil, 1-4, conceding nine goals scoring only one.
The players also exhibited improper behaviour to the world, Alexandre Song hacking Croat player, Mario Mandzukic with his elbow, Assou Ekotto’s header on Benjamin Moukandjo and Allan Nyom ‘s bad push on Neymar da Silva Santos Jr.
Paul Biya therefore wants to know the real causes of the debacle following a release from the presidency read on Cameroon national radio.
“The President of the Republic, President Biya, instructs the Prime Minister Head of government Philemon Yang to open investigations on the causes of the unfortunate participation of the Indomitable Lions at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and provide results within period of a month making propositions in view of a deep and urgent reconstruction of Cameroon football”.
