Midfielders Landry Nguemo and Edgar Salli didn’t take part in Cameroon’s first collective training in Brazilon Tuesday at the Kleber Andrade Stadium in Vitoria, limiting themselves to some muscle toning and stretching exercises.

“Within two or three days, everything should return to normal for Salli and Nguemo,” coach Volker Finke reassured in a press conference, adding that Jean II Makoun won’t start against the Mexicans.
The Stade Rennais midfielder has, however, resumed training after recovering from an ankle injury and could be available on the bench for their Group A opener.

“I feel better and better, and I should even say that I am feeling very well. The coach will decide if I must play or not on Thursday,” Makoun said.
Also back from injury, Sevilla’s midfielder Stéphane Mbia seems to longer be a concern for Finke as he took part in the whole training session and can compete for a starting spot against Mexico.
The Indomitable Lions are heading to Natal in the North-eastern state of Rio Grande do Norte this Wednesday, where they will kick-off their campaign on Thursday against Mexico at the Estadio das Dunas at 18h00 CAT.
