Premier League giants, Tottenham Hotspur have set their sight on Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o on a free transfer at the end of the season.
According to source close to Spurs, the Chelsea goal poacher tops Spurs wishlist of strikers this summer.
Eto’o whose contract expires at the end of the season and there is little chance of him remaining at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer, also has Turkish side, Besiktas showing interest.
The 33-year-old Cameroon veteran has plundered 11 goals in 33 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side this season and has also ruled out a return to Italian giants, Inter Milan.
Spurs chairman saw upwards of £50m effectively wasted on flopped talents Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado last summer and may well feel the prospect of bringing in Eto’o as a cheaper short term option to his club’s striking crisis.
