Cotonsport of Garoua is the lone Cameroonian club still remaining in the CAF continental competition.
Cotonsport progressed to the 8th final of the Champions League after thrashing Flambeau de l’est 5-0 in the second leg game in Bujumbura.
During the first leg game played at the Roume de Adjia stadium in Garoua, Cotonsport succumbed to Flambeau de l’est 1-0.
Playing a 1-1 tie with TP Mazembe, Astres of Douala failed stand up to TP Mazembe that humiliated and sent them out the competition with a 3-0 bashing.
But this was to be expected knowing the status of this club in continental football.
Union of Douala is also out of the competition following the 1-1 tie against Warri Wolves of Nigeria. Unable to maximise home advantage, the Brazilians of Bepanda were beaten 3-2 at the reunification stadium in Douala.
Astres and Union of Douala now have to concentrate on the League I champion with the hope to get a spot in the continental competitions next year.
