The Confederation of African Football, CAF is drumming support for the five African countries to represent Africa in the up-coming World Cup.
CAF executive called for support during a meeting held in Cairo 21 February 2014 with representatives of the five African teams qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil: Algeria, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria.
During the meeting, CAF offered its structures at the CAF Centre of Excellence in Mbankomo, Cameroon to the five teams, covering the costs of the teams’ stay.
“In addition, a group of media experts selected by the CAF Media Director and Media Officers of the
five (5) qualified teams will be put in place to provide exclusive report and information of the teams
for African football fans”.
Through this initiative, the representatives of the five African teams qualified for the 2014 FIFA World
now have a platform offered to exchange important information and facilitate better preparations for their respective teams.
CAF urged the African representatives to prepare adequately for the 2014 World Cup in Brasil as a step towards their in progressing in the World Cup.
