Samuel Eto’o has been forced to take to Instagram to rubbish rumours of a summer exit from Stamford Bridge.
It is reported that with lack of goals from Blues’ strikers, Mourinho is planning to overhaul his attack line and Eto’o has been highlighted as a possible summer exit.
Eto’o and Mourinho seemingly are going through strained relations given the recent declarations by the coach. Asked if Chelsea has regained command, Mourinho said, “No, no we are lacking a striker, Samuel 32? maybe 35? i don’t know”.
Despite being handed plenty of playing time by Jose Mourinho the Cameroonian has been strongly linked with the Stamford Bridge exit door.
Recently, there have been rumours that Eto’o is going back to Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala. However, Eto’o has refutes rumours that he wants to leave Chelsea insisting that he has a great love and relationship with Chelsea and is keen to work harder to improve.
“False and degrading information have been published about me, saying ‘Samuel Eto’o doesn’t want to stay at Chelsea,’” read the Instagram image.
“I just want remind to all that I have a tremendous love for @chelseafc, I have a lot of respect for my leaders and my teammates.
“I love Chelsea fans, and I will keep on giving everything I have in order to defend the Blues.”
It should be recalled that the 32-year-old biggest impact came against Manchester United in January when he netted a hat-trick
Chelsea visit Galatasaray this week in a Champions League clash which will see the Blues face former Chelsea star Didier Drogba.
