Following the Fifa ranking published on Thursday February 13, Cameroon has gained four places up the ladder from last month and now the 46th football nation in the World.

The calculation is based on performances of the indomitable Lions for the past three years and the ranking is better because the poor 2010 World Cup results are no longer included.

However Cameroon is still six places behind the first African football nation, Ivory Coast which showed a poor ranking though, going down six places.

Cape Verde recorded a much better ranking moving up eight places due to their performance during the World Cup qualifiers though penalised by the use of an irregular player.
