Lions’ Head Coach, Volker Finke has instructed one of his assistants, Martin Ndtoungou Mpile, Fecafoot Technical Department and Amateur Lions’ caoches to detect local players for a selection camp in Yaounde.
Scouting for local players to integrate the national team is part Finke’s World Cup training programme announced a month ago.
The camp was initially announced for early February, but due to the late start of the local championship, it has been re-scheduled for the end of this month.
Martin Ndtoungou Mpile, Lion’s assistant coach was in Douala over the week-end to pick out the outstanding players to be called to camp on the instructions of Finke.
In collaboration with the Fecafoot Technical Department and A team coaches Ndtoungou would come out with a list of players to be given the golden chance to join the top flight team.
It is hoped that the coaches especially Bonaventure Ndjonkep and Pierre Njilli Ndengue, former League I coaches before their appointment to the A team are aware of the evolution of players and would make the best selection.
