Newcomers to the top-flight championship, Cosmos of Mbam trashed Canon of Yaounde 2-0 during one of the eight matches counting for day one League I championship played at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.

The two goals were scored by Kack Kack at the 70th minute of the encounter and the second at the close of the game by Philippe Mataba who had earlier squandered three opportunities.
