Stephane Mbia Etoundi has urged the authorities to help the national team prepare well for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
He made the call during the maiden edition of Festi foot Stephane Mbia at the Yaounde Stadium from December 27-28.
“The World Cup draws placed Cameroon in a group with host Brazil, Mexico and Croatia, but we need to prepare well, and authorities have to help us to better prepare for the World Cup”.
For Cameroon to go beyond the 1990 exploits, the first African nation to reach the quarter finals, he says everything boils down to a good preparation. He said it would not be good to make the same mistakes 2010.
“Following internal problems and poor preparations in 2010 things were complicated and we came out with no point”, he regretted.
He said his season in club, FC Servilla so far is positive. “We got new players and the fact that I played for us to be at the sixth position is interesting. I have adapted to the Spanish style of football with the help of my coach who speaks English”.
Mbia said the act of returning to his origin every holiday is to play with friends and be part the customs and traditions of his native land.
