Cotonsport of Garoua this week-end bowed to a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Esperance of Tunisia.
The match played at the Stade de Rades saw the lone Cameroonian representative record its first defeat since the beginning of the Champions League.
The match was initially delayed due to Fifa suspension of the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot.
Cotonsport Coach, Sebastien Desabres and his boys arrived Tunisia on Thursday and trained for a day ahead of the encounter.
Despite the determination of the players to win the game, fate had it otherwise.
The return leg would be played in Garoua next week-end and if the Coton farmers would have to overturn the 2-0 defeat by scoring at least three goals without conceding any.
In a situation of a 2-0 win for Cotonsport the teams would have to go on penalty shoot-out to dtermine the winner.
