Preparations heat up for the Lions training camp billed for Paris in a week. Lions Coach Volker Finke called a 28-man squad for the training in Paris ahead of the World Cup qualifier match in September against Libya.
Cameroon is leading Group I with 11 points, a point ahead of Libya.
Concerning logistics, the Team Manager, Rigobert Song Bahanag has said convocations have been sent to players, the hotel has been reserved and the flight tickets are being processed.
Of the 28 players convened for the training, Danny Nounkeu, Aurelien Chedjou, and Achille Webo would be playing in Fenerbache following the English Super Cup. Alexandre Song and Jean Marie Dongou would play a match in Thailand on Sunday. Nicolas Nkoulou and Joel Matip would player their first matches of the season on Sunday. The aforementioned players would only go to camp on Monday August 11 while the others are expected on Sunday August 10.
The Paris camp brings memories of the confederations cup, where the lions had good results. But, most importantly, the hotel is convenient for the training as there is a play ground in the hotel and the lions would not need to take a bus to go train, says Song.
“The Ministry of Sports and Physical Education in collaboration with the Administrative director of the National Team, Mr. Oumaraini have all put everything has been put in place for a smooth camp”, Song assures.
