Cameroon Coach, Finke’s hope to have the four time African Player of the Year and striker Samuel Eto’o Fils have been dashed.
Until Tuesday this week, Finke was still nursing the hope to see one of the best players in the world play in his squad against the DR Congo on Sunday.
But, lions4life has learnt that the pi-chichi would not be part of the Congo expedition.
He has confirmed on facebook that he would not be able to make it to Congo because his injury is still not healed.
“It is not without pain that I had to announce to the staff of the indomitable lions of the extension of my unavaibility for the game of June 16, 2013 against DRC in Kinshasa. Despite my will and my efforts, the injury that stop me from playing against Togo last Sunday, is still hurting me. I remain nevertheless united to all my teammates whom I support and encourage for this decisive game. I hope to be back very soon with the group for the rest of the competition.”
Cameroon plays the boys of Claude Le Roy and any ‘faut pas’ would not be accepted from Finke and his squad.
Though Eto’o would have been a priceless card for Finke, but, he would have to do with the players he has and win the game.
