Volker Finke has said he hopes striker, Samuel Eto’o would be fit for the match against the DR Congo.

“The medical team examined him and he is injured, but, we are going to see, I hope he is going to play the match against the DR Congo, he is one of the best players”.

However, did not say if his team is complete or not.

Having spent some few days with the players, Finke appreciates the fact that players are looking for information, an idea of the next game.

“This is the result of Kiev, we have to continue this way, it is not sure to win all the games, this is a winning mentality and this is how to start”.

He stresses on team work, togetherness.

The uncertainty about Emmanuel Adebayor’s presence seems to comfort Finke. However, he says, “all the Togolese players have as minimum of second division teams in France and we should respect their level, they are professional players in Europe”.

He hopes to prepare well with the available information about Togo.

Finke says he needs time to give information on his contract, “it is not easy to give an answer which may change afterwards”.

“I will have the Cameroon experience and I am positive over things”.

Talking about the environment in which is working, Finke said his focus is football and not issues with the football federation or the Sport Ministry.

“I am not for the Sports Minister or Fecafoot President Iya Mohammed, I am for football”.

He says though he is boss, the technical staff is working as a team, each person bringing his contribution and there is no hierarchy with the staff as far as he is concerned.

He intends to bring the German style of play to Cameroon with focus on fast and tactical game. Finke says his goal for now is to qualify the team for the 2014 World Cup after which training from the base can be interesting.

So, it appears Eto’o wouldn’t be fit for Sunday then against Togo since Finke ONLY mentioned the DR Congo game.
