Football Club has notified the Cameroon football Federation of Samuel Eto’o’s injury during the finals of the Russian Cup on June 1.
The letter from the club indicates that though the team has not yet received an invitation for their player; they believe it should be administrative delays.
“With this letter we would like to inform the football federation of Cameroon that Samuel Eto’o Fils re-injured himself on the left hamstrings, the insertion of his left abductor.”
The club physician Stijn Vandenbroucke explains that the four times African Player of the Year felt tension in his hamstring gradually increasing coupled with the right hip.
“In his last minutes he experienced a sharp pain at the insertion of his left abductor”, the physician said.
However, he indicates that “Samuel Eto’o will fly to Yaounde on Monday where the medical team of the federation can see him”.
The club suggests that Eto’o should rest for some weeks adding that therapy can be arranged in Europe if the federation agrees. If the injury is confirmed the, Lions captain would not be part of the Togo encounter and probably the duel against DR Congo.
