The world football governing body, Fifa has written to the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot, indicating elections should be held soonest.
Fecafoot elections were suspended last May 24 by the Prime Minister for “security reasons”.
Junior Biyam, The federation’s communication officer told lions4life, “Fifa’s letter to the Fecafoot indicates elections should be held before June 6 and feedback sent”.
“Also, that the Arbitrary and Conciliatory Chamber of the National Olympic and Sport Committee is not competent to handle matter of election”.
This chamber ruled that Fecafoot president Iya Mohammed is not eligible for post of president.
“The chamber is supposed to deal with conflicts, and that all the decisions taken by this body have no effect”.
A decision from TAS indicated that the federation had to reorganize elections in the regions where they were contested in recognition of the Arbitrary and Conciliatory Chamber of the National Olympic Committee.
