The new Lions coach, German Volker Finke, officially appointed last evening, starts work with the friendly against Ukraine.
Like tasting the waters, the coach’s appointment is said to have been anticipated and the Minister of Sports had not signed the decision.
The decision officially makes Finke coach of the Indomitable Lions from the date of signature, which was May 24.
The Indomitable Lions arrived Kiev last evening as they boarded form Paris in the afternoon in the company of the new Coach Volker Finke.
Okabol.com reports that there was a good ambiance at the airport with the few players who were there though the coach declined making any comment.
Among the players at the Airport was Enoh Eyong Tarkang who is coming back after a long absence.
Others present in Paris for the Ukriane friendly were: Henri Bedimo, Nicolas Nkoulou, Aurélien Chedjou, Paul Alo’o Efoulou, Benjamin Moukandjo, Oumarou Aboubakar, Fabrice Olinga, and Vincent Aboubakar.
In addition to the initial number of absentees, Mathew Mbouta Andongcho, still has a game, Benoit Angbwa, Yannick Ndjeng, and Sebastien Bassong who sustained a knee injury.
The team trains this Friday in Kiev, tomorrow there would be a press conference followed by another training session.
The match would be played at 7:00 pm Cameroon time.
