Lion’s Coach, Jean Paul Akono may not be part of the Kiev expedition for the friendly.
Cameroon would play Ukraine in a friendly on June 2 prior to the World Cup qualifier matches, against Togo and DR Congo.
Though Akono said he would be fit for the match against Kiev, Lions4life learnt that a visa was not established for him.
Akono’s name is not on the list of the delegation. The reason is that he is sick and cannot be part of the expedition, there is no need to force things and it is in his interest to get treated, lions4life learnt.
The coach had a malaise on May 18 and is just recovering from a mild stroke.
According to Footafrica.365.fr, the Lions programme has been modified. Initially the team was to train in Ghana after Kiev, but this has changed.
The team meets in France ahead of the game friendly on Tuesday, May 28 or 29.
A meeting between Volker Finke, the federation and the Sports Ministry is billed for tomorrow.
There is a possibility for Akono’s list to undergo modification. Finke would coach the team for the three matches in June after which clarifications on who does what in the team would be made.
