Frenchman Raymond Domenech, 2006 world vice-champion has declared that he has not opted out of the Cameroon Job.
The declaration comes after reports that he had withdrawn his application.
Frenchman Raymond Domenech was shortlisted recently among two others Volker Finke and Kamboure though later replaced for his lack of international experience for Sven Goran Eriksson out of 86 coaches who applied to coach the Indomitable Lions
In an earlier report Fecafoot President Iya Mohammed told Lions4life.com, “One of the agents told me, Raymond Domench has withdrawn his candidature, but I don’t have direct contact with Domenech”.
“He may have more than one agent”, he added
But, a call to Domenech from www.camfoot.com indicates that the report is false, “c’est faux”, he said.
“I have not opted out, i am still interested in being Cameroon coach”.
Domenech stated that only Stephane Canard can talk on his behalf as an agent.
The agent said he had no contact with Iya Mohammed and many suspect that it could be one of the agents who claim deposited have Domench’s application file at the Cameroon Football federation.
Domenech would be in Paris on Thursday and probably on that day or next, he would meet with the Tombi A Roko Sidiki Delegation.
