Cameroonians, Alexandre Song of FC Barcelona and Nicolas Nkoulou of Olympic des Marseilles have been enlisted among 34 others for the CAF African Footballer-of -the -Year.

The Confederation of African Football, Caf, published the list of the 34 players today.

There is also an additional list of 32 African based payers for the race.

The major selection criteria are club and national team performance.

In this vein, Cameroonian born international, Song was voted in second place as Arsenal player of the season by the fans.

The defensive midfielder had a hand in vital goals scored by Arsenal in the 2011/2012 season.

Song left for Barcelona in August 2012 after 204 appearances and 10 goals for Arsenal and plays for the national team.

For his part, Nicolas Nkoulou, Cameroonian defender has been growing in strength and stature at Marseille where he has become a regular in the team and also plays for the Indomitable Lions.

These Cameroonian players have been selected alongside some African stars, Ghana’s Marseille, Andre Ayew and Morocco’s Abdel Taarabt of Queen Park Rangers among others.

The successor of Ivorian Yaya Toure, the 2011 African Player-of-the-Year would be known during a gala night at the Ghana Banquet Hall State House on December 20.
