After 20 years, Union of Douala are set to grab the title this year after outdoing the defending champions Cotonsport of Garoua by seven points.
Union of Douala with just two matches to the end of the season, bag home their fifth title after the first four in 1969, 1976, 1978 and 1990.
Trashing New Stars 4-1, in an all Littoral derby over the week-end, Union of Douala maintained a comfortable lead in the league after 11 consecutive wins.
Cotonsport, the two times champions would however remain in the second position to accompany Union of Douala in the Champions League.
The battle however continues for who grabs the third place, synonymous with qualification for the confederations cup.
Panthere of Nde and Unisport of Bafang would tussle for the third place during the remaining two matches of the elite football.
Meanwhile, at the bottom of the league table, Tiko United and Scorpion of Mbe have descended to the relegation zone.
The boys of President Charles Eteki have missed out this season, and can no longer be saved from relegation.
Following, the 24th day of play in an all Southwest derby, Tiko leveled scores 3-3 with Njalla Quan in the 8th place with 29 points.
The third team to join the Samba Boys (Tiko) in the relegation zone would be picked from among Aigle, Renaissance, Astres and Sable.
