A five man delegation is expected on a mission in the days ahead to woo Samuel Eto’o Fils back to the national team.
The delegation to Europe is made up of Sports Minister, Adoum Garoua, Federation President, Iya Mohammed, Roving Ambassador, Albert Roger Milla, Coach Jean Paul Akono, and National Technical Director, Jean Manga Onguene.
Their mission is to convince Samuel Eto’o Fils and other players Jean II Makoun, Armel Kana Biyik to come and help the country qualify for the Nations Cup.
Samuel Eto’o Fils the four times African Player of the Year refused the national team last month when called up for the away leg against Cape Verde.
Blue Sharks of Cape Verde humiliated the Cameroon National team 2-0 during the Nations Cup qualifiers in Praia.
Following the defeat, the Sports Ministry suspended Coach Denis Lavagne and appointed Jean Paul Akono to qualify the team for the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
Cameroon was absent from the 2012 African Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Government would not want Cameroon to be absent for the second consecutive time. A five-man delegation headed by the Sports Minister leaves for Europe in the days ahead.
Cameroon takes on Cape Verde on October 13 at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.
