Coach Denis Lavagne has pre-selected former lion, Wome Nlend who has been playing with Canon Yaounde for the 2011/2012 season.
The former lion who had been without a club for some time decided to come back home and help his former club, Canon.
Wome’s name is in the list of 40 players Lavagne submitted to the Cameroon Football Federation.
Lavagne who has been watching the local league discovered that Wome at 33 is still very agile and for some time had wanted to select him in his squad.
He has been selected with 15 other players from the local league in preperation for the third round Nations Cup qualifier against Cape Verde in September.
Cameroon would be free during the Fifa period following the series of matches played in June.
Lavagne is expected to name his squad in the days ahead to start preperations for the crucial encounter against Cape verde in the absence of the fifa period match.
Wome Nlend left the national team after he failed to score a crucial penalty for Cameroon to qualify for the 2006 Nations Cup.
There was a lot of criticism from his colleagues and he was never called to the national team again.
