The matches from Group E of the Women’s Olympic Soccer tournament continue with South American powerhouse Brazil take on Cameroon at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Cameroon comes into this tournament as debutants in Women’s Olympic Soccer, it was a major step forward for Cameroonian Women’s soccer as they beat African top dog Nigeria to get this far.
Coach Carl Enow will guide his squad through what is a challenging group, not to mention their first opposition being a Brazilian side hell bent on overcoming the bridesmaid tag and finally win a major tournament. The key players for this match are goalkeeper Annette Flore Ngo Ndom as well as defenders Christine Manie and Ysis Sonkeng, the longer Cameroon can keep the score to 0-0 the more confident they will become but it all starts with a solid defensive approach.
As for Brazil, they come into this tournament focused on finally shedding the tag of being a team to fall at the final hurdle. Coach Jorge Barcellos has taken over from Kleiton Lima and this squad is looking to have a quick start under him, especially with the majority of the squad being younger. However the key players on this squad are the trio of forwards Marta and Cristiane as well as midfielder Formiga, while the veteran midfielder will shield the back four consisting of captain Aline the dynamic duo up front will be responsible for finishing the chances. This squad is stacked in all areas but their main strength may just be in defense, as they have the quickness to keep up with play while also having the size to battle in the air.
Anything other than a Gold medal will be deemed a disappointment, while they should top this group fairly easily there are bigger challenges ahead. This is yet another match that has no betting value in it, even with the odds set at 2 goals Brazil should really have no issues against the up start Cameroonians
