The Indomitable Lions Coach, Denis Lavagne is confident that he has the quality and quantity of players to upset the Leopards of Congo.
Speaking to the press, he said time is never enough to prepare for a match but, with the players at his disposal he is capable of aligning a good team against Congo.
Though Enoh Eyong and Nkoulou could both be absent, he is confident that these players would be fit for the other matches reason why he has not yet dropped them.
Lavagne and Claude le Roy (Leopards Coach) who once coached the Lions have met during the African Nations Cup where they shared the same hotel but Lavagne does not seem frightened.
“It is not a match against Lavagne and Le Roy but against two teams”, he said.
Given that psychological preparation is part of the daily training, Lavagne said like players, he is psychologically prepared for the match.
He hopes that starting his job on a positive note of eight wins, the LG Cup, the match against Guinea Bissau and Guinea Conakry, he may reconcile the Cameroonian public with the players.
He however says that the match against Congo is a match of truth.
Cameroon was absent from the 2012 Nations Cup thus slacking the link with the public and would face this public for the first time since 2011.
Though the players said they decided to give the captain-ship to the eldest of the group, Idriss Carlos Kameni, Lavagne said the captain would be designated during the match.
“We are going to reflect and handle the situation during the match”.
But, the fact that Idriss Carlos wore the band even when the logical captain appointed by the Minister was present has left tongues wagging.
